English: Conjunctivitis is an inflammation of the conjunctiva, the thin transparent tissue covering the white part of the eye and inner eyelids. It can be caused by infection, allergy, or irritants.

Transmission / 전파

Viral:

• Redness / 충혈
• Watery discharge / 눈물 분비 증가
• Itching, burning / 가려움, 작열감
• Usually affects both eyes / 양안성 가능

Bacterial:

• Redness / 충혈
• Purulent (yellow/green) discharge / 고름 분비물
• Eyelid crusting / 눈꺼풀 딱지
• Often starts in one eye / 단안성으로 시작

Allergic:

• Redness / 충혈
• Intense itching / 심한 가려움
• Tearing / 눈물
• Swelling of eyelids / 눈꺼풀 부종

Irritant:

• Redness / 충혈
• Tearing / 눈물
• Burning / 작열감
• History of exposure to irritant / 자극물 노출력

Treatment / 치료

Viral:

• Usually self-limiting / 대부분 자연 회복

• Topical antibiotics: Erythromycin, Gentamicin, Ciprofloxacin / 국소 항생제
• Maintain hygiene / 위생 유지

Allergic:

• Antihistamine or mast cell stabilizer eye drops / 항히스타민제 또는 비만세포 안정제 점안
• Avoid allergen / 알레르기 원인 회피

Irritant:

• Rinse eyes with clean water / 깨끗한 물로 세척
