Etiology / 원인

• Exact cause unknown / 정확한 원인 불명
• Possibly triggered by infection or immune response / 감염 또는 면역 반응에 의해 유발 가능

Risk Factors / 위험 요인

• Age <5 years / 5세 미만 아동
• Boys slightly more affected than girls / 남아에서 약간 더 흔함
• Asian ethnicity (especially Japanese) / 아시아계, 특히 일본인

Symptoms / 증상

Classic criteria (diagnosis requires fever ≥5 days + ≥4 of 5 features):

1. Fever lasting ≥5 days / 5일 이상 발열
2. Conjunctival injection (red eyes) without pus / 결막 충혈, 농 없음
3. Oral changes: red cracked lips, strawberry tongue / 구강 변화: 입술 발적·균열, 딸기 혀
4. Peripheral extremity changes: red/swollen hands or feet, peeling skin / 손발 적색·부종, 박피
5. Polymorphous rash / 다양한 형태의 발진
6. Cervical lymphadenopathy (≥1.5 cm) / 경부 림프절 비대

Other possible signs:

• Irritability / 과민성
• Joint pain / 관절통

Diagnosis / 진단

• Based on clinical criteria / 임상 기준
• Laboratory tests supportive:
  • Elevated ESR and CRP / ESR, CRP 상승
  • Leukocytosis / 백혈구 증가
  • Thrombocytosis (after 1–2 weeks) / 혈소판 증가
  • Mild anemia / 경도 빈혈
• Echocardiography for coronary artery evaluation / 관상동맥 평가를 위한 심초음파

Treatment / 치료

1. Intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) / 정맥내 면역글로불린

• Single high dose (2 g/kg) / 고용량 2 g/kg
• Reduces risk of coronary aneurysm / 관상동맥류 위험 감소

2. Aspirin / 아스피린

• Anti-inflammatory dose during acute phase / 급성기 항염증 용량
