• Prevention of NSAID-induced gastric ulcers
  NSAID 복용으로 인한 위궤양 예방
• Medical termination of pregnancy (in combination with mifepristone)
  임신 중절(미페프리스톤과 병용)
• Cervical ripening and labor induction (off-label)
  자궁경부 숙화 및 유도 분만 (비허가 적응증)
• Treatment of postpartum hemorrhage (off-label)
  분만 후 출혈 치료 (비허가 적응증)

• Metabolism (대사): Rapidly converted to active metabolite (misoprostol acid) in liver | 간에서 활성 형태로 빠르게 대사

• Serious / Life-threatening (중증/생명위협):
  Uterine rupture (in obstetric use), severe bleeding, anaphylaxis | 자궁 파열(산과 사용 시), 심한 출혈, 아나필락시스

 

 

 

 

 

 Contraindications | 금기사항

• Pregnancy (when used for ulcer prevention, unless indicated for obstetric use) | 임신 중 사용 금지 (산과적 사용 제외)
• Known hypersensitivity to prostaglandins | 프로스타글란딘에 대한 알레르기

 Dose | 투여량

• Gastric ulcer prevention: 200 mcg PO 2-4 times/day with food
• Termination of pregnancy: 800 mcg buccally/vaginally as directed (with mifepristone)
• Cervical ripening: 25 mcg vaginally every 3-6 hours (hospital setting)
• Postpartum hemorrhage: 800-1000 mcg rectally (off-label)

• Monitor uterine activity and fetal status if used for obstetric indications | 산과적 사용 시 자궁수축과 태아 상태 모니터링
• Monitor for diarrhea and dehydration | 설사 및 탈수 여부 확인
• Instruct patient to take with food to minimize GI upset | 위장장애 예방을 위해 음식과 함께 복용 교육
• Assess for pregnancy before initiating for ulcer prevention | 위궤양 예방 시 복용 전 임신 여부 반드시 확인
• Monitor vital signs and bleeding in postpartum hemorrhage treatment | 분만 후 출혈 시 활력징후 및 출혈량 모니터링

• Take with meals to reduce GI side effects | 음식과 함께 복용
