McBurney’s point is a specific spot on the abdomen located one-third of the distance from the anterior superior iliac spine (ASIS) to the umbilicus.
Tenderness at McBurney’s point is a classic sign of acute appendicitis.

**맥버니 포인트(McBurney’s point)**는 배꼽과 오른쪽 위앞엉덩뼈가시(ASIS) 사이의 1/3 지점에 위치한 복부의 특정 부위입니다.

 Clinical Significance (임상적 의미)

• McBurney’s point tenderness → appendicitis 의 대표적 소견
• Guarding, rebound tenderness may also be present
• Used during abdominal assessment

📍 How to Locate (위치 찾는 법)

1. Identify the right ASIS (오른쪽 위앞엉덩뼈가시).
2. Identify the umbilicus (배꼽).
3. Measure imaginary line → right ASIS → umbilicus
4. Press at the outer one-third (바깥쪽 1/3 지점).
